WWII Russian collaboration with Germany & Holocaust: extremely rare hand-made armshield badge for enlisted personnel (red border) of the Kaminski Brigade, with base cut from Soviet uniform. The unit evolved from a small militia in Lokot, Byelorussia, following the German invasion & became a large force posessing captured Soviet tanks & field guns; renamed the Russian National Liberation Army (RONA) under Bronislav Kaminski & tasked with anti-partisan duties; eventually incorporated into the Waffen-SS. In the annals of World War II military history the Kaminsky Brigade is broadly regarded the units which committed the worst excesses of the foreign volunteers in the German forces, particularly with regards to the 1944 Warsaw Uprising. Very few genuine armshields exist and none are alike. Tests negative under ultraviolet UV light.
