RARE postage free registered mail concession on British post-WWI official mail: 23 JAN 1919 local stampless OHMS registered cover on imprinted "Post Office" postal stationary, sent locally in CAIRO from Army Post Office APO SZ 10 to Royal Air Force RAF Nasrieh Hospital, tied full strike of scarce date-bridge postmark (Proud-D6) + 1-lined A.P.O. SZ 10 registry label with manuscript adjusted registry number "42c"; slit open at top, left & right flap tips missing + pencil notations on back.

Rare instance of the free registered mail postage concession in use (unlisted in Firebrace & Proud) - here on account of being sent by the post office, so not needing any signature endorsement or instruction markings such as "postage free" or "registered paid" handstamps: the standard rate was 2d (2 pence) and often observed used in conjunction with pre-paid Registered Entire (RE) envelopes.
