Mandate WWII era surface mail abroad: AUG 1940s postmarked cover from HAIFA to MANCHESTER, franked 15m per period surface rate to UK & tied by single strike of the head post office postmark. The postmark date is unclear but would be from at least 1943, when the 15m rate was instituted; as uncensored, likely post-war (1946-47) as censorship in Palestine ended in Sept. 1945. Slit open at top, vertically folded.
